Last week, I invited you to join me in a collective looking-for-hope group project. I thought it might be fun – and good for our souls – to build another playlist together, this one filled with upbeat music that makes us happy, one that gives us hope.

Once again, y’all responded! (I think you guys like playlists.) 75 songs, people! We came up with 75 hopeful, happy, upbeat songs. That’s 4 hours and 45 minutes of . . . collective hope . . . for your listening pleasure.

Here it is . . . just in time for the weekend.

A couple of notes about the playlist:

  • I didn’t consider the playback order of songs as I built the playlist, and decided not to go back and edit the entire list after the fact. (Lazy.) So I highly recommend choosing the “scramble songs” option before playing . . . for better and more interesting effect.
  • There were a couple of songs with multiple mentions (Lean on Me, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and What a Wonderful World were the most-mentioned songs on the list). In the case of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, the suggestions were two beautiful renditions by two very different artists. I hope you won’t mind the duplication.
  • I tried my best to include the specific artists and specific songs you suggested. There are a couple of substitutions in there, but please know I tried to be true to your wishes.
  • The songs came from your comments and private emails and messages through Wednesday. If you have any last-minute additions to the playlist, let me know and I’ll make adjustments. (Playlists are . . . organic. They can change over time.)

My thanks to the following Dancing At the Edge readers for contributing their suggestions to this playlist (and I will say, this playlist has QUITE an eclectic mix of music!): Valerie, Vicki, Carole, Margene, Debbie, Diane, Kim, Karel, Sarah, Carolyn, Dee, Laura, Anne, Jane, Kathy, and Kat.

Enjoy listening to this music filled with hope!
