Working through my Getting Through Feburary list . . .
with a home-spa day!
Tom left yesterday for a little fishing adventure in North Carolina with a friend, leaving me and JoJo behind. What better time to brighten up my February . . . than with a little pampering!
First a foot soak. (Ahhhhhh.) Then, digging out the old Olive and June set (I haven’t used that since the earlier days of the pandemic.) (Could use a bit of re-learning and more practice. Just sayin.) And then, a Malibu treatment for my hair. (We have super, SUPER hard water, which puts brassy streaks in my white hair. The Malibu treatment strips away the iron and gets rid of the streaks.)
It was fun. Although . . . I’m not sold on that nail color. It’s spring-y, all right — but will take some getting used to. (I had it on my toes, too. But it looked WAY too . . . fungal . . . for a pedicure. It had to go.)
And later this week? A massage! (At an actual spa. . . )
=====
We’re already at the half-way point of February! I think my list is helping. (Although the sun is peeking through now and again, too. Which is a huge help.)
How’s your February going?
Fun times. A foot soak sounds just marvelous and thanks for the massage reminder. I will call in a bit and schedule one for myself. I’m in a purging mode today, so will be taking things out to donate!
I am planning a home mani today since it’s a restricted food intake day (medical test coming) and I need a way to distract myself.
I was just thinking my poor nails could use a bit of a spa treatment but your foot bath inspiration might be even better!
Enjoy your “solo + 1” week! XO
This sounds like a lovely way to spend some of your alone time! Like you, I’m not quite sure about that nail color, but it does look like a well-done manicure. Your “fungal pedicure” gave me a good laugh! We don’t have sun today but the temps are supposed to be weirdly warm once again, so I might take a walk and see what’s blooming.
I really love having at home spa days, they always boost my spirits! Sounds like yours was lovely.
I hope JoJo celebrated with a good walk and some treats. 😉
I think I need a foot soak now!
That sounds like a wonderful way to spend some “me” time. I kind of like the light green nails, but maybe not on the toes. LOL
Enjoy your special time and I hope Tom has a great time.
An at-home spa day is the perfect way to get through February! Perhaps I should finally remove the remnants of my pedicure from December and put on something fresh and springy — though not fungus green!
I hope you enjoy your spa day…it sounds lovely! It is unusually warm and sunny here so I am headed out for a walk! Have a great week!
I love that you had a spa day at home! I usually do some skin care stuff on Sundays with a mask, etc and it makes me feel great even if I’m not convinced it does a thing for my skin. I have a massage on Friday and it’s the start of a vacation week for me so I’m very much looking forward to it.
what a fun way to celebrate you (plus one) home alone! You know I love my Olive & June and getting a bright color on my nails last week felt good. I spy some brights in your box and hope you try one of them next. (I have a blue rinse for my hair that I use once every 10 days or so … I’m not familiar with a malibu treatment – is it similar?)
Sometimes it’s kind of nice to have a few days all to yourself. I have a massage booked for this coming Friday. Ahh I feel like February is speeding along – more so than usual but perhaps because our weather hasn’t been winter-y. Temperatures in the upper 40’s an 50’s are quite nice for walking.
