It’s always an exciting day . . . when Bonny and Carole and I announce our newest Read With Us selection!
This fall, we invite you to join us in reading . . .
Partita, Barbara Kingsolver’s newest novel.
The publisher’s blurb explains this brand-new release this way:
Partita is the story of a brief, passionate, life-changing love affair, wrapped up in what might be the greatest romance of all: our eternal human longing for art and beauty.
While Bonny and Carole read (and loved) advance copies of this book, I have not . . . so I can’t share my personal reading experience with you (yet). But I will say that I took my sister and brother-in-law back to the airport very, very early this morning . . . and started listening to it in the car on my way back home. I was immediately hooked by the story, and can’t wait to keep listening!
I hope you’ll also be intrigued – and curious enough about a new Barbara Kingsolver novel – to pick up this brand new book and Read With Us!
Bonny and Carole and I will be talking more about the book and providing additional background information for you in blog posts over the next several weeks. Then . . . mark your calendars for our blog book discussions/Zoom discussion on Tuesday, January 5, 2027 (7:00 pm Eastern time). (And, yeah. It said January 12 earlier but I messed up and Vicki caught it and now it’s the correct date . . . January 5.)
C’mon along!
Settle into a cozy corner, grab your book, and . . . Read With Us!

I’m looking forward to re-reading by listening to the audiobook. I’m hoping it includes some of the music mentioned in the story. Even if it doesn’t, I’ll be searching youtube to make myself a playlist. I hope you love the book as much as I did!
Barbara Kingsolver is a genius. Looking forward to your reactions in January. Her focus has changed since The Poisonwood Bible (which still resonates with me today) so I haven’t been “keeping up.” Maybe this one will be a turning point.
I am looking forward to this one as well.
Well, how about that? I just got notification that the book is now available! (Lordy, January!!)
I’ll be picking it up at the bookstore today. I can’t wait to read it! I grew up on classical music and know this book will mean so much more to me because of that. And, because I’ve been a Kingsolver fan forever! 🙂
FYI: Carole’s post says the Zoom date is January 5th…
Sorry, everyone. Vicki caught it . . . the Zoom date is actually January 5, 2027. (Let’s just call it Vacation Brain Fog. . . ) I have changed it in the body of the post.
