Around here, when it comes to knitting, I’ve had a single-minded focus on (what I’ve taken to calling) The Damn Waffle.
Because this is one of the slowest knits I’ve worked on in a long time. Not the slowest ever, though. (That would be this sweater’s Pressed Flower Cardigan cousin.) (So, yes . . . you might say I should have known.) It’s just a total slog-fest of a knitting black hole!
But . . . I’m getting really close! The sweater-over-sweater photo above was just this past Monday. And with a bit of focus, I’ve gotten to the point now where I’ve actually started the bottom ribbing. And then it’s just a bit more on the sleeves.
I’m
creeping
ever
closer.

Really.
I am!
(That’s me. . . trying to convince myself.)

How about YOU? What are you working on this week?

You are almost there!! Knit on, Kym, you will suddenly find yourself flying by on the ribbing, and then you can post a picture to virtual applause. I hope you love it when you are finished. Thanks so much for the stickers you sent me. It was very thoughtful and much appreciated.
You are getting quite close, and that’s not just me trying to convince you! Like Becky, I hope you love it when you are done and that we soon have cool weather so you can wear and enjoy it. I may have knit too many dishtowels as I’m finding myself staring at the closeup and thinking “that stitch would make a nice towel”.
You really are SO CLOSE!! I bet this will be done in no time. You are really speeding along in finishing your “projects” and I’m anxious to see what is on your Fall list! Like Becky, thank you for the stickers – very cute! I plan to use them in the journal book I use to keep track of what I read!
I did not do the waffle knit-along, and I’m coming to realize, watching the rest of you, that it’s a sweater that anyone would be glad to own, but maybe less glad to be knitting (and knitting). Still, it looks wonderful!
And my stickers arrived over here on the left coast as well — thank you to you, and Bonny, and Carole.
First of all, Bonny’s towel comment is hilarious! We’ve probably all done this at some time or another. Second, KEEP ON GOING!!. The sweater looks fantastic on you!! I forced myself through a seedstitch-bordered winter scarf and it was so worth it. The textured border was so cushion-y.
Oh man! It is so gorgeous! You’ve got this! (And really… your patio looks like the perfect put your feet up and knit for a bit spot!!) And I am echoing the thanks for the awesome stickers! I really loved the RWU summer of reading-not-reading-requiements! It was something I really looked forward to each week!
8 inches or so of sleeve left on my never ending sweater…I’m determined too!
Kym it looks fantastic on you. Courage! you are sooo close…or maybe by the time I finish this comment it is done. I bet you wear it a lot. My freinds and I talk about there should be some kind of bell you ring when you finish a slog of a project, all of your maker friends magically hear it and cheer for you in unison.
It’ll all be worth it in the end!! The Damn Waffle looks amazing on you!
Oooh, you’re so close! Looks like you need a good TV show or audiobook to hold you attention while you grind out this last bit. As others have said, it looks like it’s going to be a sweater you’ll wear a ton, and I’m sure you’ll be very happy you got through the slog when it’s done.
You’re so close! I haven’t even taken Hannah’s out of the plastic bin it’s been languishing in all summer. I think I will make that a priority this coming week so I can assess where I am. I think (but I could be delusional) that I’m about at the ribbing but I haven’t knit the sleeves yet.
