Close.
So. Close.
But, alas. . . no banana. (Yet.)
Still knitting away. But I’ve reached the point where . . .
- the rows are getting quite long,
- my attention is wandering,
- and I’m thinking about what I might make next!*
And even though this situation looks like it might be concerning . . .
It is not.
Let me assure you . . . I have plenty of yarn to complete this project.
(With yarn to spare.)
Since this isn’t exactly an exciting project-update, maybe these outtakes of JoJo will help. (After all, she is perhaps the most photogenic knitting dog around!)
I may be finding my project a little tedious. But, trust me. JoJo is endlessly entertained!
==========
How about you?
What are you making this week?
==========
*Want to know what I’m considering for my next project????
Well. This scarf (shawl?) really has a hold of my imagination right now. I don’t really need another scarf. At all. But . . . I have yarn that would work. It looks like fun to make. And it’s interesting. I can’t stop thinking about it . . . so it’s only a matter of time.
And there’s this blanket. I’ve admired Chris’ version ever since she posted it on Instagram last spring. And then when I saw it in person at the Michigan Fiber Festival a couple of weeks ago? Well. Let’s just say Chris helped me pick out my yarn on the spot! And I want to make it . . . in a show of solidarity. (Please send Chris all your love and good juju as she continues her cancer treatment.)
But, then, well . . . I would really love a plain old, comfy, just-throw-it-on sweater. Very casual. Black or dark gray. Pockets. Like . . . this one. (But without such a big turtle-y neck.) (Because I hates the turtlenecks.) I really like Kay’s version. I think I’ll just copy her. (And, once again, I have the yarn already).
So. Looks like I have my next projects all lined up? Although. . . maybe not. Because I am a Very Fickle Knitter! (Stay tuned.)
I was glad to see JoJo’s paws in the top HotM photo and know that she was supervising your photo shoot. I think your knitting is quite photogenic, as is JoJo. Despite the tedium, I would recommend that you make sure it’s a size you’ll wear. (I’m still contemplating gifting my first one.) But I can also see the excitement of moving on to some new projects. Those are all intriguing, and having the yarn for all of them makes it even more exciting!
Thank you for the reassurance that you’re not about to run out of the brown because that was my first thought! JoJo is photogenic even in her outtakes! I am not one for knitting blankets (well, at least not blankets bigger than those for a baby), but the Stephen West pattern looks like one that would be fun to do with scraps over a long period of time.
Your HotM is looking great!! Those colors are just divine! But that blanket!! And that shawl (wrap?!) wow! Just wow! (and Hi JoJo!!) XO
Hahahahaha – that bottom right photo of JoJo is just excellent. What a ham!! I love your Hitch on the Move (and
am thinking maybe I should pack my HotM yarn for my vacation?). But wow!! What gorgeous prospects you have possibly coming up. Cecil is so unusual (and I’m curious how it is knit avoiding long-ass rows), the Stephen West blanaket is gorgeous (of course) and I have had that sweater in my head since that particular Field Guide came out. I NEED more time!!
My making is all over the place – socks, sweaters, ordering yarn for a hat, embroidery, quilting. It is a small glimmer into the chaos that is my brain these days. I love all your ideas for new projects too. And of course JoJo – lovely bonus.
Jojo is just the BEST!!! She poses so nicely.
Your Hitch On The Move is so pretty. Now you just need some chilly weather to go strutting about.
That’s going to be lovely!
But I gotta tell you, I would pay good money to kiss that pup – please give her some on my behalf.
I just want to kiss JoJo on the nose (i’m thinking about JJ for the new dog that we don’t even know exists yet). And those colors and the work is gorgeous!
Hi JoJo!! from me & Lucy … who is currently in my lap wanting to play fetch… not much knitting happening right now! Cheering on the current project and looking forward to what you start next. Must admit, the blanket piqued my interest – as in “I’d never knit that and I hope you do”.
Those choices would keep me knitting for a l-o-n-g time. Which could either seem like an old friend which you hate to finish or a millstone around the neck. I’m curious which you might choose! I’m mostly thinking vests myself, but the blanket would be a great stashbuster. Beautiful Jojo looks the picture of contentment. And her paws on the cool..ish Michigan pavement make me think of all those U.S. Southwest four-legged pets on that scorching ground. Hope they are all wearing booties! I had seen a panhandler/hitchhiker on the highway ramp whose pet pup was wearing some snazzy neon pink ones. Or maybe he just placed himself there to remind everyone else to do the same. It certainly left me with a lasting image.
I just cast on another Sinkmate! This is number five!
Also resurrected Petite Knits No Frills Sweaters I put away earlier this year, when I got to the sleeves. They are supposed to be Christmas presents for the girls (30 something grown women… ;-). Now I just need to find my size 6 needle tips… What project could they be in???
Looking into your near future is a fun thing to do and could help in current production. The scarf will look fabulous to wear this winter with black! I love Kay’s rendition of the sweater (not a fan of T-necks myself). Jojo is good looking!
Hitch on the Move is looking great and I always love seeing pictures of a smiling JoJo! Good luck choosing your next project from those ones you are contemplating – they are all pretty great!
Loving that shawl but JoJo steals the show!!
That Cecil Shawl is so cool.
I’m collecting blanket patterns to consider for the graduation blanket that will be due in a couple of years… it’ll be no surprise to him (as it was to his brother), so perhaps I will do a little consulting, too.
And I love that sweater… I’d make mine with a big open funnel neck. 😉
Jo-Jo steals the show every time. All to well, I know that feeling of this project has lost it’s shine and when is it every going to be finished. You are looking at some interesting patterns.
