. . . and a little bit more.
For several months now, I’ve been sharing little slices of my life . . . by sharing collections of random photos from my camera roll. It’s a good way for me to keep you all updated on what’s been happening in my days . . . without boring you with the mundane day-to-day stories of my days. Because at this point, I’ve been blogging here long enough that I feel like I’m just repeating myself year after year. And if I’m tired of that, I’ll bet maybe you are, too.
So while I’ve been sharing these “views” from my camera roll every two weeks, I’ve also been thinking about my own blogging and how I can keep it “fresh” and interesting for me. And, of course, for you.
So I’ve taken a little break. Blogging less often . . . feels better for me right now. More “space” in my days means I have time to think about what I might want to say here, and how I want to say it. That “thinking” will continue through the end of the year, and then in January I’ll explain where I’m “landing,” blog-wise. I hope you’ll hang with me here for the duration.
(And, in case you’ve been wondering, I am not going to create a new “blog advent calendar” this year. I do, though, have a special . . . thing . . . I’ll be writing for you through December. Not every day, though. I’ll explain next week, so stay tuned.)
Anyway. Here’s another view from my camera roll. You’ll be able to see that I’ve reached the . . . quiet time of the year. A time of putting away and sorting through. A time of organizing and planning. A time of hunkering down and preparing for the dark and cold months ahead. It’s a lot less colorful. But still beautiful in its own way.
I won’t be blogging again this week, so I want to take this opportunity to thank you all today . . . for being here with me and reading the little “natterings” I share. I appreciate your support, your kind words, and the community that we’ve created here in blog-land. If you’re gathering with friends and family for a special meal this week, I hope it’s wonderful. And I wish you all a relaxing and restful weekend.
I’ll see you in December!

Oh,y goodness! The colors in your view photos are beautiful. Enjoy your week.
I love your camera rolls, Kym. I want to ask questions about almost all of these pictures, but especially the knitting basket one. What is that, and I LOVE the colors. Is that Tom’s dad? Yes, I am leaving the leaves, except for a walkway into the yard for Boomer and I. Is that birdfeeder squirrel proof? LOL, yes, I am a curious girl. I hope you have a very happy holiday. And as for blogging, you do you, but if you quit know you will be missed.
This time of year the colors are so rich and warm. Fall has been a lovely season this year. May your Thanksgiving be full of joy, warmth, love and beauty. Oh, and yes, peace. xo
Is it intentional that your knitting echoes the colors in the second photo…the ones with the ferns and the purple?
You never feel like you’re repeating yourself to me.
Wishing you many Thanksgiving blessings.
The colors are so rich in these photos and I love how whatever you’re knitting matches the landscape. Please tell me what that is you’ve got going. Your dad looks great and I recognize Bells and all your other spots around your home, too. XOXO P.S. I never get tired of reading anything you write. Just sayin.
Like Valerie, I like how the colors in your knitting echo the colors in the garden. Just lovely, as are shadows on the wall and “shadows” of leaves on concrete. I’ll be looking forward to your special thing in December! I wish you all a calm, relaxed, and delicious Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I do so enjoy these little peeks into your days… I see that knitting and a smile crossed my face (you will see why tomorrow… I am not as successful as you are, but you are inspiring me to stick with it!) I like the wind down days… there is something perfect about them, especially right now… I feel like the world is exactly where I am and that is a very good thing.
I love the autumnal colors in your photos, especially how your knitting matches the colors of the leaves! I hope you have a lovely, quiet Thanksgiving!
I never get tired of reading your words Kym. Wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving and a peaceful weekend. Looking forward to next week. xo
Your photos are lovely ….. each a moment of grace in its own way.
I’ll echo those who said “you do you” as to the blog, but added “I don’t tire of reading your posts”. You have a unique and meaningful voice that remains fresh and interesting to me, as a reader.
Happy thanksgiving to you and your family. Peace and fun!
Did you notice that the colors in the photo of your knitting match perfectly in the nature photo above? I always think of this time of year as being kind of devoid of good color, but you’ve reminded me that it’s not.
I am thankful for your friendship, and this year I’m especially thankful for it because of all the wonderful advice you’ve shared with me that have helped me be a better dog mom! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and look forward to some surprises in December!
Kym, I’m thankful for your posts. You’ve shared so much that has been helpful to me, both emotionally and practically. Many of my knitting projects have been modeled after yours. Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving my friend! I sure hope you have a tasty and relaxing day. There is so much beauty (and color!!) to be found in these quiet days, isn’t there? I’m looking forward to your December posts.
Wow. It’s not being nosy, is it, if you are in control of what you share? There is something just so human about being interested in what other humans are about. Love the close up of your knitting of that chevron pattern so much. Those colors! If that is Rowan Felted Tweed I am buying that chartreuse color! Favorite photo is of Tom and (father?) bellying up to what seems to be a bar-and-coffee-cafe all in one. Why don’t I have one of those places right in my own neighborhood?? If I won the lottery I would financially support one of these exact replicas for the rest of my life. The best ones seem to come and go. Thanks so much!
The “slowing” season definitely has it’s own beauty. Wishing you (a little late) a very happy Thanksgiving and looking forward to seeing what December brings.
