Well. Sometimes you take a very unexpected little break from blogging!
On Tuesday morning, I got my flu shot and Covid booster. Four hours later, I was down for the count! I’ve really never had a strong reaction to these shots before . . . but this time? They knocked me on my butt for a good 24 hours.
So today, while I work to get my life back in order, please enjoy this silly little video from 2009. It’s a true Family Classic that I had lost track of . . . until reviewing old posts on my old blog. Brian was a junior in high school, Jenny was very young, and my garden was in its earliest stages of development. (And, yeah, that’s the same old garden cart I still use today.)
Enjoy!
Great video! Sure hope you are feeling better. I’ve never had reactions to either of those shots, but I’ve also never gotten them at the same time. I need to schedule our flu vaccines.
What a fun memory! Bummer about the vaccine reaction. I need to get mine soon. Have never had both at the same time. Maybe I’ll keep them separate based on your experience.
I’ve been waiting for your equinox book report…hope all is well.
I hope you’re feeling better. I got my flu and covid shots together last Tuesday and basically slept through Wednesday. I just told myself that meant my immune system was challenged and reacting as it should. Now I just need the shingles, pneumonia, and tetanus booster shots, but maybe not all of them at once.
Bummer, Kym! I have gotten them together in years past, but never had more than mild arthralgias and fatigue. I am trying to hold out until October since Covid incidence has gone down, and October is the best time to get the flu shot. Based on your experience, I will be careful not to get them when I can’t rest. Hope you feel better very soon. Thanks for sharing your funny video! And I, too, have a garden cart that is much older than that.
I had the same experience with them this year as well… I was down for the count for a solid 24 hours! (but I am so very happy to be boosted!)
Brian! That actually looks like a fairly tame Brian move. Sure looks like fun, tho!
Yikes! I’m planning on getting a flu shot/covid booster tomorrow. I’ll plan to spend Saturday at home. Thanks for the warning.
I had that same experience last year, and although I’d like to get them off my to-do list in one swoop, I’m making multiple trips to the pharmacy. Three down and one to go. Glad you’re feeling better.
Had my COVID shot yesterday and so far, so good. But my daughter-in-law had a really strong reaction this time. I’m on the opposite plan of Becky R. — COVID is on a surge around here and we’re planning on doing some traveling I don’t want mucked up. Last year I had both shots at once, and really just had a sore arm. This year I decided to wait on flu till next month. I only have one “good arm”, so that’s a consideration. Obviously from these comments, people have different experiences. Love the Brian video – obviously wasn’t too much for that cart.
Ugh, so sorry that shot knocked you for a loop! I remember that video!
