I don’t think there’s a better baby welcoming gift . . . than a tiny, adorable, hand knit baby sweater!

Fourteen years ago (and I cannot believe it was fourteen years ago already! ), the first of Tom’s brother’s sons had a baby. So I knit that new baby (my grandnephew-in-law. . . ) a baby sweater. And then there was a grandniece-in-law. And then another grandnephew-in-law. And another niece. And another. They just kept coming! And I just kept knitting those tiny, welcoming gifts! (In Tom’s family, I became The Aunt Who Knits The Sweaters.)

I knit the first two sweaters using the same pattern, but after that . . . I decided to branch out and have some fun with it. I’ve knit each baby a unique sweater.

Let’s fast forward to . . . now. (Well. . . to last month.) I knit my ninth family baby sweater to welcome the newest of the grandniece-in-laws — and sent it off just in time!

As usual, I wrote up the relevant project details in my Field Notes, and I included a lot more photos there, too. Click on over if you’re interested in seeing/learing more about the sweater.
