I’m up at our cabin this week, but I wanted to share something I’d been working on back home before we left. It’s one of those can’t-stop-won’t-stop kind of projects.
I’ve been making . . . CHARMS.
(And, really. Once I got started, it was hard to stop.)
(In fact, I’m sure there will be even more once I return home to my supplies again.)
(Because I have . . . Ideas.)
As you might have guessed, the inspiration for these little charms comes from Fodder School. I made these with those little office supply tags you can pick up at Target or Office Max or Amazon. I decorated the tags with watercolor and stencils and a Micron pen and magazine words. Then I gave them a coat of Dimensional Magic (a Mod Podge product; I got mine at Michaels, but Amazon carries it, too. Of course.)
I started out making 8 of these little tag-charms. But you can see that it blew up from there . . .
What am I going to do with these little charms? Actually, I’m not sure. But I love having them around. And I do have some ideas. Stay tuned!

What about you? What are you making this week?
Those charms are so fun. I am imagining adding a little string and hanging them in trees when I go out to walk, sort of his those message rocks people were making in 2020.
They are charming! I’m making potholders (and maybe knitting my HotM if I get some knitting gumption).
They would make cute tags to add to gift wrap. Words of encouragement or joy. They are so cute, Kym. What fun!
I like Juliann’s idea and also Zeneedle’s. Fun stuff Kym!
charming 😉 as are the ideas about what to do with them in the comments! I’d be selfish and hang them on my ficus tree (if I had one). I’m finishing up sweaters this week and thinking about what to bake when the boys come this weekend.
Those are very cute! I have a very strange association with those tags — they were used in my pediatrician’s office to indicate what vaccinations a child needed or was getting, so when I see them, I think “Polio” and “MMR” and things like that. Weird, right? Yours are so much better!
So…charming! The nature of these little circles makes them so adaptable. I love the idea of using them as gift tags. (I’ve also used yarn to embellish gift wrapping.) Thanks for the inspiration, Kym! For what I am doing – never been a great charity knitter although a charity scarf is what kicked off my knitting obsession. Red Heart yarn in the color Bikini can be very addictive. But I am focused now on Preemie hats and need a simple pattern in worsted weight that will not bother my wrists due to the tiny circumference. I am not likely to do any mattress-stitch sewing up. Magic Loop is my method of choice.
These are so very “charm”ing! I love Juliann’s idea of adorning trees with them. They might also look nice tucked in twinkle lights when the dark doldrums of winter are getting one down… oh round about January! I have been painting a bit each morning and having so much fun doing it!
Those little charms are so much fun. I love all the suggestions I’m reading in the comments. I’m mending a bedspread and picking cherry tomatoes and cucumbers.
