At the beginning of the month, I invited you all to a pot-luck barbecue at my house . . . and WOW!!! Did you ever respond enthusiastically!
Today, I’m sharing the resulting menu . . . and the receipes. I’ve listed the menu out in this post, and if you click here, you’ll find detailed recipes for most of the dishes (either the actual recipes themselves, or a link to an online version of the recipe). Prepare yourselves for a mouth-watering assortment of deliciousness! (For all time, these recipes will “live” in the Field Notes section of the blog.)
So. It’s time to PARTY!
Crank up the Summer Vibes playlist.
Belly up to the bar.
Grab a plate.
And DIG IN!

I don’t know about you, but I really, really wish this was a REAL event . . . and not a VIRTUAL one!
==========
My thanks to the following Dancing At the Edge readers for RSVPing to my virtual barbecue, and for so generously sharing their favorite summertime recipes: Kat, Bonny, Vera, Marilyn, Linda, Vicki, Chloe, Debbie, Kim, Sarah, Lora, Carole, Dee, Carolyn, Kathy, Mary, Pam, Margene, Christine, Jane, and Patty.
I sure wish this were a real event too! Thanks for pulling this all together Kym and sharing everyone’s recipes. Everything sounds SO GOOD. As a side note, I made the eggplant marinara recipe last week when we went to Bonnie & Zhongren’s for dinner and Zhongren gave it a two thumbs up!! LOL
Oh wow, WHAT A BASH!! Thank you!! Wish I could sample that new brew of Tom’s! 😉
We would certainly be eating GOOD at the BBQ!
This sounds like the BEST Backyard BBQ ever!!
This would be such a fun summer party! I wish we could make it happen and break the space-time continuum somehow so we could all attend.
Oooooh boy do I wish this was a real event! It would be epic with all of the best drinks, food, and (most important of all) friends!
Oh.my.gosh! My mouth is watering! My heart is so wishing this was an actual event as well! My gosh what a magnificent party we’d throw! XOXO
Oh, I so wish this was a real, live event! I’m imagining that I’m enjoying a lovely snack of Jane’s hummus along with Patty’s lime margarita and they are wonderful. I will try some of these recipes for real this summer as they sound delicious. Thanks for putting all this together!
I just looked at the recipes…my mouth is watering!! I wish we could all spend time together and actually have this BBQ. What a fun event that would be! There are recipes that I’ll definitely be trying. Yum!
What great cook-out this would be, especially with all the contributors FtF!
How fun is this? I’m with the rest of the commenters, I wish it were a real event but then I might just have to roll home. Thank you for putting this together.
Thank you, Kym, and everyone for sharing so generously! I sure wish we could do this in person, and I’m going to think of all of you when we sample some of these recipes here at home. I’ve got Sam & Charlie coming next week, and I think we’re going to try Sarah’s rice krispie s’mores … the “un-indulgent” version 😉
Oh, YUM! Thanks so much for the Negroni recipe. After downsizing, we no longer have gin, Campari or sweet vermouth in our arsenal (heck, we no longer have an arsenal) but you never know when we might be entertaining a sophisticated group of world travelers (we do know some) so it’s nice to have this recipe up our sleeve. I remember the Wild West days of the fledgling Internet free of passwords, paywalls, and intrusive ads. Makes me want to go out and buy another cookbook.
Oh, if only we could all get together in person! The food and drinks would be wonderful, but the company would be out of this world — and I would love to hang out in your garden!
This reminds me of a project from my old n’hood. We gathered as a group of women (and they still do) on the third Tuesday of every month (since 2005). A few years ago, we put together collected recipes from these Tuesday evenings; a singular volume was printed and bound and put in the annual Christmas gift game. I was the lucky winner — serendipitously so, as I wouldn’t have guessed I’d be moving the following spring. Anyway, collected recipes are always a treasure. Thanks for doing this!
This would be such a fantastic gathering…awesome food, drinks, and new friends! Kym, thanks for the idea and putting it all together!
Wouldn’t it be terrific if this were a real event??? Good food and wonderful people….what could be better?
I love this – It WOULD be a fun party IRL. Heavy on the beverages (lots of good choices), summery sides, and great people!
Thank-you Kym!! And wouldn’t it be such a blast IRL! 🙂
