Grace is the light or electricity or juice or breeze that takes you from that isolated place and puts you with others who are as startled and embarrassed and eventually grateful as you are to be there.
— Anne Lamott in Traveling Mercies
Today, I offer you the simple gift of GRACE.
Grace . . . is something we can’t “have” just on our own. We can’t earn it or find it or stock up on it for later. We just . . . get it. We may not even deserve it. But there it is.
Although I don’t stop to think about it very often, I really like this concept. And it seems especially comforting during dark days, dark times. Like . . . maybe now. Last week, I saw this little film-thing on Instagram, and it gave me that . . . grace feeling. I thought it might bring the same to you.
As this dark week ends, remember that there is GRACE, my friends.
For all of us.
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free . . .

I’ll continue adding a few more Simple Gifts for you to open before the New Year, so stay tuned. (There is no schedule. The gifts will just . . . appear . . . from time to time.)

Kym- thank you for sending us this gift. This song has always been very special to me. How beautiful.
Ahhh. That was just so lovely. Thank you. XOXO
Again, so beautiful. I do love her posts about Frog!
A very nice respite from the winds howling at 45 mph outside! Thank you.
Thank you, Kym. Those images were so fun. And for some reason something led me to scroll down a few more reels and there appeared a short, funny piece about knitters from a stand-up comic. Gentle humor nothing sarcastic.
Grace is such an important thing, especially in today’s times. Knowing when to extend it, knowing when to accept it, makes us better humans.
It’s amazing how watching others experience joy and beauty can bring a sense of calm, isn’t it?
This was just lovely, Kym, especially since I am seeking sources of grace on a daily basis. I have found that accepting necessary losses becomes a grace challenge. Every little bit helps!
