(And nicely, too.)
Yes . . . I have divided for the sleeves on my Waffle Pullover. (A Major Milestone, indeed.)
And, yes . . . I have passed the midpoint on my sister’s Sophie Scarf. (It’s all downhill from here.)
But Tom hinted that he might really like one of those red hats (the knit ones, not the other ones) for the next No Kings protest (March 28; mark your calendars), so I am kindly obliging.
How about you? What are you working on?

Sometimes you just need to knit all the things all at the same time! Well done Tom for helping to indulge a bit of “cast-on-itis”!! XO
Of course you are knitting it because he asked! And it will be done in no time. You do have a quite a bit on the needles, but go for it as long as the mojo lasts.
I’m working on a can’t do-anything-right project even though I’ve made two of these tiny things before. Is it the different yarn (softer, wobblier) or is it my age? Only time and knitterly grit – or lack thereof – will tell. Love that shade of red for your hat.
How could you not knit that hat? Hats go quickly, so you’ll be back to your other projects in no time.
Great idea for the next protest! And a hat is quick – you will be done in no time. I’m happy to be (finally) finished The Family Socks!!
I felt like I was doing something positive (even if it was just for my mental health) when I knit my red hat. I found all that ribbing quite soothing. I like how you’ve got projects on the needles for whatever knitting mood you’re in!
Aw, I love that!!
I think we all know that Tom is very knitworthy, so I’m sure you don’t mind making him a hat (though maybe you might regret it a bit when you’re on the last inch of that 1×1 rib).
That will be a great hat for Tom!
I find it so flattering to be asked to make a gift (by a knitworthy person, of course) that I find it very hard to say no!
It sounds as if you are making good progress on the sweater and the scarf. And of course, you would knit a red hat for Tom. I bought the pattern too. I saw an interesting video-cast by an English woman who was knitting a red resistance hat and answering the criticism by some that knitting a red hat was just performative. Her very logical response was “of course it’s performative. That is the point.” She went on to say it wearing a hat gives one an opportunity to make a statement about beliefs and also might be a way to start a conversation with someone.
