I’ve been doing a little knitting.
Not much.
But my project is slowly . . . taking root!
It’s the Garden Cardigan by Ankestrick. As you can see, I’m not terribly far along at this point, but finished with the trickier bits (which aren’t all that tricky, actually). It begins a little differently than most top-down cardigans, but the directions are super clear, and the knitting is enjoyable. (Ankestrick patterns are always fun to knit.) (Clever, too.)
I love the little split-back neckline. It was designed so the sweater won’t slide off your shoulders if you’re, say . . . working in the garden . . . while wearing it. The stitch pattern is very easy to memorize – and read – so I don’t have to look at the pattern very often at this point.
I’m sure this won’t be flying off my needles anytime soon, but I think this cardigan is off to a good start. Maybe I’ll be wearing it for fall garden chores? We’ll see!

That is a beautiful cardigan! I love the split neck, the stitch pattern, and the color you chose. I hope you’ll be wearing it for fall garden chores but it will be lovely whenever you finish.
That back neck detail is really quite cute! I think that spring into summer is the best time to have a slow and steady knit along for the ride! 🙂
I appreciate a pattern designed not to slide off the shoulders. It’s one of the frustrating bits about two cotton sweaters I’ve knit (…and it makes me really not want to wear them! I even sent one to the thrift.).

Perfect summertime knitting. Perfect color, too! Maybe you’ll have a lovely new cardigan to wear while gardening… when you need one! I love a design where the “shoulder” seam is actually a little behind the shoulder.

I’m working on my Anker Tee – I want to get past the yoke so I’m just knitting for the rest of it and not worrying about increases, etc.
I’ve been admiring that pattern since it was released, and you’re the first person I “know” who’s actually knitting it … looking forward to seeing how it grows!
What a great summer and into fall knit. I’m a proponent of “a knit takes as long as it takes.” I’ve also admired that pattern so I look forward to seeing your progress. I’m working on a sock and a baby hat. I’m also doing some slow stitching projects as gifts.
