Well would you look at that!?
I have a finished shawl to share!
And . . . I finished it up just in time to actually use it, too. (For a few days, anyway.) (Because another heat wave is on the way.)
This was an all-around easy knit. As in . . . easy to find the right yarn in my stash. Easy to knit. Easy to finish. And really, super easy to wear!
It doesn’t get easier than that!
If you click here (the link will whisk you over to my Field Notes for this project), you can read the “tech specs” (details) — and see a few more photos!

How about YOU? What are you making this week?
It’s easy to see this is a perfect fall shawl! Love the color and it looks so good on you!
It looks fantastic! I hope the heat wave is brief so you can get back to being cozy in it!
Ooh, so pretty! I love the size you made and your yarns together. It’s almost like those yarns were just waiting in your stash to become the perfect HotM. Well done and I’m looking forward to seeing what you’re making next!
I love the subtle color and all those little zig zags. I am on a second sleeve and today is cold and wet so a good day to be inside with my yarn.
A GORGEOUS finish. Congrats!
That does, indeed, look easy-to-wear! (And they’re not, always! Unfortunately. So sounds like a win, all the way around.) I feel like I haven’t seen you in too much brown in this space, and I noticed immediately that it’s a very pretty color on you.
Hope the heat wave’s a brief one. Sheesh.
Beautiful shawl – and the colors do look great on you – great combo with your glasses! I’m working on an Alabama Chanin dress – not from one of their kits, so it’s been more fussing – and I’m on my third color for the embroidery around the cut design. I think I’ve finally got it.
Can’t say enough about this shawl. The colors are different but seem to flow together. Brown is usually not my favorite but it is Perfect here. And it drapes beautifully. And the photo with Jojo is tantalizng. Will he jump on your Work in Progress or not?
That’s a great shawl, I love the design and the neutral colors you chose. I am knitting a hat. Still.
I’m embarrassed to say I’m still “working” on my summer cardigan, which I haven’t picked up for a couple of months. Distracted, I guess. But this is inspiring and looks great on you. (And I just noticed your rain barrel. That is awesome!)
What a great one! The colors and size are perfect for you! Enjoy!
Beautiful! I love those colors & the design!
Beautiful shawl! I love the colors and the pattern.
yay for a Fall-ish finish that you got to wear right away. I’m putting the finishing touches on a new fall sweater and hoping the weather holds so I can wear it right away, too.
It’s beautiful! I have yarn put aside to make one someday. Your colors are great.
That looks great, Kym! And a very wearable size!! (and those colors are just fabulous on you!) XO
Wow. That’s a beauty and it looks lovely on you!
What a beautiful finish. I hope you enjoy keeping warm in that shawl and that the heat wave is short-lived. I’m working on a wrap and Norah’s sweater is once again on the blocking mats. When it dries, I’ll sew on the buttons!
