Oh, friends.

I finished up my bright pink and neon green sweater. I was on the verge of plunging into the (tedious) process of piecing together my blanket (aka The Prodigal Son) when . . .

WHAM!

Somebody new (and very, very shiny) caught my eye. And my attention. And my imagination.
And, my-oh-my. I was S-M-I-T-T-E-N.

I’m afraid I’ve got a new member in my dysfunctional knitting family.
Meet . . . The New Kid.

I mean, really.
Can you blame me?

I was a total sucker for that Pressed Flowers Shawl when it came out a few years ago. Like . . . in that drop-everything-and-cast-on kind of way. (Flower motifs. They get me every time.) I knit it up in a flash . . . but I never wore the shawl (it was the size and shape), and ended up gifting it instead.

A cardigan, though?
Oh, I’ll wear that!

So far, The New Kid and I are getting along splendidly. The rows are long and the yarn is thin, so we’ll be spending a lot of time together, and we’ll have ample opportunity to get to know one another.

(Sorry Prodigal Son. You’ll have to wait just a bit longer . . . )

How about you? What are you making this week?
