So. It’s mid-June and time for me to offer another R-E-P-O-R-T. Although I have So Many Things to report this month, I have very little time for actual reporting. So this will be short and sweet. But you’ll get the gist.
At mid-month I’m . . .
R . . . eveling. In summer. In my garden. At having BOTH kids around at the same time and in the same space yesterday!
E . . . njoying. Being able to dig up plants from my garden . . . to SHARE with Brian and Lauren as they enlarge their own perennial garden. Both of my kids became gardeners, which thrills me to no end. (TWO gardeners makes up for ZERO knitters . . . )
P . . . rotesting. (And didn’t THAT feel GREAT????)
O . . . ptimizing. My time. Erin has been visiting for a couple of weeks now, but she’s packing up to head back home on Wednesday. We’re busy making the most of our remaining time together.
R . . . eturning. As in. . . books. To the library. My reading has slowed down dramatically these last few weeks. I’m sure I’ll find the time to read again soon. But for now? It’s back to the library!
T . . . rying. Trying to keep all the balls in the air. Trying to just go with the flow. Because I am WAY off kilter and far off my usual “schedule.” There’s a lot going on here . . . including hosting our annual summer solstice party on Friday. (Yikes.)
And that’s where I am . . . here at mid-month.
How about YOU?
I’m glad that you are enjoying the summer and time with your family!
I attended the protest here in Charleston and was thrilled by the turnout of nearly 600 in this small, red leaning town! There was so much comradery and a sense of hopefulness and that makes me feel that things can change for the better!
There is no greater stress reliever than having fun with family! I am so happy for you. You have a lot better things to do than posting, so just enjoy the time.
The family that protests together … makes pretty cool signs! I you all Enjoy your last day with Erin, and hooray for both kids at the same time in the same place. That’s quite an accomplishment. Enjoy the solstice preparations and have fun at the party.
P.S. Tom has the best shirts! I love “Exquisitely Unbalanced” and may need to find that one for myself.
The joy just beams from this post! (off kilter or not… the joy… well it is delightful!) I am sending you all coveted Vertical Time (where time seems to stand still) as your days wind down with Erin! XO
So nice to see you all happy.
Everyone at the same place together is the BEST! My Chuck had the same sign as you, Kym. There were 2-3000 people protesting in our consistently red community. (Washington is a blue state, but east of the mountains, as we say, it’s red, red, red.) It was a more diverse group than the “hands off” protest, with more young people. It lifted my heart.
How nice to have your family together. I love all the signs but especially Erin’s. The numbers at protests around the country are encouraging. I hope going with the flow brings you peace and joy and love. Happy Summer.
It must have been wonderful to have both kids together over the weekend! I hope your plans for your solstice party are moving along and that it doesn’t feel overwhelming and totally joyful.
A post filled with joy and smiles is just wonderful. LOVE all your protest signs (particularly Tom’s) and, like Bonny, I may need to find a tee shirt like Tom’s – awesome!! Enjoy your remaining time with Erin visiting and an early wish for a very happy solstice (and party).
How lovely that Erin was in town to protest with you! (I tried to get Molly to go to a local protest with me, but in the end I was feeling so awful that it was a moot point.) I love that your kids have embraced gardening. Don’t give up on the knitting — sometimes the interest takes a bit of time to develop!
Love seeing the signs and the joy in resistance! (also Erin!!) Glad you’re soaking up all the positive vibes of summer (and you know those books and the knitting, and pretty much everything else, will still be there when you’re ready for them again). Happy June!
What a wonderful first part of June! I was volunteering at our local Solstice Celebration on Saturday and did my best to throw away all of the propaganda that was left around from the vendors on the other side! 😉 Hoping the second half is just as eventful in all good ways and that your party is a huge success!
