I don’t know about the weather where you are, but here? Spring . . . has left the building!

It is so cold and so windy and so gloomy that I don’t even mind knitting on a big old woolly man-sweater these days! As you can see, I’m nearly to the shoulder decreases on the new fishing sweater I’m knitting for Tom. The BACK of the sweater, that is. I’m clipping right along here, knitting through the doldrums, and I may even have the back completed by the end of the week.

This won’t be my monogamous summer knitting project, though. (Too. Hot. For. That.) Although I’ll have it handy whenever the weather takes a walk on the chilly side again. (As it does.)

In the meantime, I’ve got a new project in the planning stages. It’s time for me to make another baby sweater . . . for another grandniece, due in July. (I’ve made a baby sweater for each of our grandnieces and nephews – 8 so far! – so I can’t stop now.) I’m still in the planning stages for the sweater, but I’m inviting you all along to join me in the “deciding” phase of things.

I’ve pretty much settled on making this little sweater. (Click on the photo for the Ravelry link. Bonus: It’s a freebie.) I love fun stripes and creative color blocking, so this pattern is right up my alley. This particular baby will be the third in this grandnephew’s family — and the first girl.  Although I always used to make tiny-baby sized sweaters as gifts, I tend to favor older-baby sized sweaters these days, so this baby won’t be wearing this sweater right away. (I’ll be making the 12 months size.)

I don’t want to purchase any yarn for this project, so I’ve been Shopping-My-Stash. Turns out I don’t have a lot of superwash wool on hand — but I was able to come up with two colorway possibilities. (The pattern calls for a minimum of 3 colors, but I’ll probably throw in a fourth . . . just for extra color blocking fun.)

So . . . I’ve got Option 1 (the magenta-navy-creamy white-acid green combo) and Option 2 (the more muted pink-yellow-creamy white-turquoise combo).

I’ve pretty much made up my mind already . . . but why don’t you weigh in here, too. Just for the fun of it!
Which color combo do you prefer?
And which one would you guess I’m leaning toward?

(And I know the lighting in these photos is terrible. Best I could do. Doldrums. With heavy rain. All day. For days.)
