Another Sunday.
Another toast!
Over the years, my sister, Diane, and I have made a lot of toasts together . . . starting way back in time with those just-for-fun-pretend-toasts with non-alcoholic beverages we made when we were kids. We moved on from there . . . making celebration toasts and everyday toasts and bon voyage toasts and grieving toasts. We’ve made toasts together in London and Paris and Amsterdam. We’ve made toasts together on ships and planes and canal boats. We’ve made toasts with Guinness in Irish pubs and icy vodka in St. Petersburg. And we regularly make toasts at the start of our “Wine & Whine” FaceTime calls (one of those pandemic rituals that continues today).
So, yeah. We’ve made a lot of toasts together in our lives. It was a no-brainer, then, that I would ask my sister to serve as my Cup o’ Kindness Toastmaster this week!
So grab a glass.
Raise it high.
And join me in this toast from my sister, Diane . . .
Here’s a toast to all of us who might be feeling a little lost right now. I was inspired when I read these words from John Wesley. I hope they bring you comfort as well:
“Do all the good you can
By all the means you can
In all the ways you can
In all the places you can
To all the people you can
As long as ever you can.”Because, despite all the noise, that’s exactly how I want to live, by doing good.
So, may we all do good, as long as ever we can!– Diane Nyffler, December 2024
Cheers!
Hear, hear! Here, here!
This is truly perfection! Thank you, Diane, for this perfect reminder of what my mantra needs to be! XO
Wise words and great advice. Cheers to Diane and to you for sharing her with us over the years!
Beautiful and wise. A framework for a way to live in a toast, I am inspired.
LOVE this!!
This is simply beautiful! Thank you Diane!
Cheers! and thank you, Diane for sharing the words, and Kym for hosting us.
That pretty much covers the territory. Thanks for reminding us, Diane. In the moment we silly humans so often forget the important stuff.
Cheers! Great toast!
Thank-you Diane! Cheers!
This is one I think I’ve actually heard before, but it’s a great one — especially for these dark times. Thank you to Diane for sharing it with us!
That’s a good one! Cheers to you!!
Very wise words. Here’s to you and your sister!
