I am often distracted by the siren call of “new” knitting designs. I see something . . . and oooooh! . . . I want to knit THAT. And sometimes, I do. But, usually, those designs end up just being passing notions, and they just come and go in my knitting-imagination.
There are a few, though, that have real sticking power. No matter what “new” stuff comes out, there are a few designs that are always, always at the top of my “to knit” list.
Birkin.
(another) Weekender.
The Must-Have Cardigan.
Sunday Morning.
Humulus.
No matter what I’m considering knitting next, these 5 designs are always in play. I already have yarn for each one of these 5 in my stash. (I’ve actually “earmarked” the yarn for these very knits.) I have the patterns. Yet, somehow, I keep passing them by.
Well, my friends.
I’m going in!
First up . . .
Yep. I’ve got a Day-Glo Humulus on the needles!
And I am charmed!
What was I waiting for??? Who knows!
But now that I’ve gotten a start on my list, there may be no stopping me.
=====
How about you? What are you making this week?
(And do YOU have a list like this???)
Those colors are so great! One of these days I’ve got to knit myself another Humulus because my first one is probably going to fall apart from wearing it so often!
I love those colors! I hope it is fun to knit and great to wear!
I love those colors and think that sweater will look great on you! I have a list but mine is mainly Hitchhikers: a lace weight one, one with just the right configuration of beads, one with some self-striping yarn that I’m “saving”, one where I transition gradually from one color to another. Your day-glo combination makes me want to cast that one on right now!
How fun! The colors! I loved making Humulus. Enjoy!
Wonderful colors! I have a list and I am working on matching that list to yarn in my stash. I love my Birkin and considering making that one again
My problem isn’t having a list of to do…although I do have one of those as well…but I have too many works in progress. What I have going right now are socks, mittens, 2 lace shawls and a stranded teddy bear. There might be more…I’d have to toss my closet to find them. o.o I love the colors on your hat!!
What fun color choices! I predict you will have as much fun knitting it as wearing it.
Oh, good grief, I didn’t realize that this was YOUR blog until I clicked on the Noro blanket photo! Well, anyway, that sweater will be great on you!
Oh such great colors Kym! That will be amazing and fun to wear. Sunday Morning is a pattern that keeps cropping up for me. Maybe this winter I will have to dive in and make a sweater (haven’t done that since I made Sigla!!).
I knit humulus and loved it. But your colors have me thinking about a 2nd one. Plus I plan on using the hops chart to add to a hat for my hubby who brews beer.
I saw that dayglo green and thought “yes, that color story from the walk” … and then I spied the pink. and realized nope 😉 Still, I’m delighted with those brights. and quite curious to see what you’re planning for Birkin!
Love the colors of the sweater. I do have some sweaters lined up with yarn but always seem to be telling myself after I finish this or that and then I never start it. I will someday though as the ones I have kitted up myself I do want to make.
What pretty colors. That will be a very fun knit. One of my stash bins is titled “up next.” It is my unofficial list. I’ve been trying to knit from that bin this year and am doing pretty well.
What fun! I don’t have a list… but I do have a Hitchhiker that is calling to me…loudly! 🙂
I love that bright green! It just is HOPS personified! 🙂
I don’t have a list but I do have a Works in Progress, about 4, which is my current List, I suppose. Love your Humulus colors! I also thought it was a hat, at first. And the pattern probably could be adapted to be one!
Humulus is one of the knits that just makes everyone happy. Love your choices as they scream joy! Why not have some fun as so many knits are “Classic” (ie. boringly black or gray). I can’t wait to see you wear this sweater. You’ll always feel happy when you wear it!
The colors you have chosen are amazing! That will be a great sweater for you. I think it would look excellent on Hannah, too, but I’m not sure how much she would wear it. I’m going to ask, though, because it looks like a really fun knit.
