— John Muir

If you’re wondering what this “advent calendar” is all about, you can read my “intro” post here.
Thanks for this Kym. I’ve enjoyed your advent posts. Last night we had a glimpse into nature as two owls were hooting around our house between 3 & 4 AM. I assume they were staking out territories because I can’t imagine they’d be mating in December.
If you find birds fascinating, you might like Jennifer Ackerman’s book The Genius of Birds. Such a great look into avian life.
We have seen so many of those this year. Many more than in winters past.
I haven’t seen a murmuration in too long! Today’s post simply made me happy. Thank you.
That is amazing. I am so enchanted by birds lately. May need to drive north to see the snow geese this year too.
I love seeing murmurations. They are amazing!
I, too, love seeing murmurations! An incredible sight to behold!
So cool to watch and it woke Fred & George up from their naps and set them on alert!
I’ve always wanted to see one of these in person. All we get where I live is a stream of crows or grackles that is rather eerie and not at all magical!
