(Yeah.)
(Because I gotta.)
KC? The Sunshine Band? You ready?
Hit it!
==========
I finished my Shakerag Skirt . . . weeks ago. Back in June. And I’ve been wearing the heck (“shaking my booty” so to speak) out of it ever since. This skirt is, indeed, “the new sweatpants!”
Shake shake shake . . .
Shake shake shake . . .
Shake your booty! Shake your booty!
If you’ve been thinking this skirt . . . sounds too good to be true . . . I’m here to tell you it’s the Real Deal! It’s fun and relatively quick to knit. The suggested yarn (Rowan Creative Linen) is a dream to knit with — and to wear. It’s easy to fit. And . . . it doesn’t sag in the (ahem) booty . . . even after days of wear. It’s machine washable. If you think you’re not a “skirt person” . . . this skirt might make you a “skirt person.” As KC says (over and over and over) . . .
Everybody, get on the floor, let’s danceDon’t fight the feeling, give yourself a chanceShake shake shake, shake shake shakeShake your booty, shake your booty
You can find more photos and all the details in my field notes, along with a Ravelry link. (Eventually.) (I’m up north right now and struggling to load photos with my slow wifi, so if the link isn’t live . . . you’ll need to try back later. Sorry.)
That’s gorgeous, Kym! Having read so many endorsements of this skirt & yarn, I am tempted… but I hate knitting in the round, so would have to adapt for knitting in pieces. Shouldn’t be too difficult?
Hmm…the designer of this skirt (Nell,,,sorry, her last name escapes me -age-related memory deficit) has some great patterns. Since I am not likely to knit a skirt, you are putting her vest-with-pockets pattern on my short-list (which is actually quite long) based on your endorsement of her pattern-writing skills. Pockets…yum. Love the skirt on you!
I’m not a skirt person, especially not a knit one that I fear would show all my flaws, but yours is gorgeous and it looks great on you! What color will your next one be? 😉 I am going to check out the vest with pockets pattern that Chloe mentioned. (Pockets are perfection!)
Yay! It looks great!
It looks wonderful! I wish I was further along with all my WIPs so I could justify starting this too. I might actually wear it in the right neutral or even navy like yours. Also, the ravelry link is working fine. It popped up in my friends projects page as it should.
Your skirt looks great & perfect for summer!
LOVE! Looks wonderful on you Kym. Mine is cast on…but no further along. Soon I think…and I can’t wait.
I love the pattern at the bottom and you look wonderful in it. I would look like a sack of potatoes!
It looks amazing! I’m glad to hear the good review of the yarn, too, because if I ever decide to knit a skirt, I will want something that will stand up to wear and be easy to wash!
You look beautiful in your new skirt. Shake away!
I think I’m going to have to do this one.
I love it! And it looks perfect on you. Very much a dress person here (I’ve knitted two and absolutely love one of them.) Never tried a skirt, though–thoughts of the waistband put me off a bit. If you have a chance, I’d love to hear or see how it worked out for you… (Does it lay flat/smooth at the waist? I don’t like gathering there… Etc.)
🙂
Love it! And of course you rock it! Off to check out the designer.
Kym, your skirt looks great! I may have to make one myself.
That is a fantastic skirt and it fits you perfectly! I’m so glad you’re enjoying wearing it! I think skirts and dresses are the best for summer but I don’t see myself knitting this one – I’m not sure I’d have the stamina for it.
It is such a perfect skirt! I wear mine all.the.time! Your’s looks fantastic… I love it!
This is such a fantastic finish! I love the skirt and can see why it’s become a favorite. Beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful! You can wear this for any formal occasion or simple things like running errands. Enjoy the summer of the skirt!
it looks great, Kym – yay for a fantastic finish!! also, I love the way you’re wearing it with a short top – so stylish!!
What a fabulous skirt. It fits great and looks very comfortable. I’m glad it was so successful for you.
