Sigh, it all looks so lovely! But please – tell me how you captured those beetles because they are eating the leaves of my plants and making me crazy!

Ditto on Carole’s comment! Yep, lovely garden, Kym. I would be able to relax there very easily. I bet it gives you an escape from the world most days. Interesting halter on Jojo?

Goodbye tree, hello beautiful blooms, and ah those skies!
Lovely views, even the tree coming down. It was time, I think. This is the only way I like seeing Japanese beetles. I usually shake them off my plants into a jar of alcohol so I can watch them suffer in their death throes. I haven’t seen too many here so far, but I better go knock on something.

Beautiful photos and views. My favorite is the lake from the dock at sunrise (at least I think it is sunrise) with the mug. We missed our annual summer Minnesota lake stay with my sister and brother-in-law this year due to all our medical shenanigans but maybe this fall. At any rate, I find a lot of joy in your photo.
Those blasted Japanese beetles… they are the bane of every gardener but like Bonny said, I haven’t seen many here either. What a lovely oasis your yard is (and that view from your dock at the lake… perfection!)
Like others, I love the view from the dock (reminds me of summers at Lake Dunmore in Vermont). Fletch used to use Japanese Beetle traps, but we have not seen many in some years now (like Bonny, I’d best go knock on wood or something). So sorry about the tree, but oh my, your gardens are just so lovely Kym. Beautiful.

Summer in a photo essay. What a great story. Love the photo with your live-in family and the beer. I’m afraid I wouldn’t know a Japanese beetle from a butterfly larva but all the rest is Very Appreciated.
I’m so glad to see you at the lake – I wondered if y’all had been … what with JoJo not being able to swim? So – delighted to see you’ve been, and shared the view. Thank you!

Summers lush green is rewarding and so nice on the eyes. They rest on the varied green and shapes of your long time garden. Now looks like your hard work payed off and you can enjoy summer without too many garden demands. (?)Regardless the yard looks like an eden.
