I finished the sampler in December 2022, but ran out of “making mojo” to do anything with it. In November 2023, I used the sampler as the basis for a pieced-together holiday throw pillow. I used holiday(ish) fabric I had in my stash that coordinated well with the sampler. Serendipitously, I’d just received a shipment that used the bright green fabric tape in its packaging, so I used that to highlight the piecing. I purchased some festive pompom trim to add the perfect touch to the outside edge of the pillow. (Just the right amount of “kitsch,” I think.) I used a pre-purchased 16-inch pillow form — and I made an “envelope” opening in the back of the pillow cover to stuff it in. (I completely made up the pillow design/pattern to incorporate the stitched sampler; it’s a total “winging it” kind of project.)
