So. I’ve been busy this week . . . winding the yarn for my next project (it’s this cowl), and I had a couple of aha-moments while winding.
Yeah.
First, I’m going to have to guard my little yarn balls from JoJo.
(They don’t call that colorway “Tennis Ball” for nothin’. . . )
And second, I’m going to have to share my leftovers with Tom.
(All the colors. Yes, please.)
It turns out . . . this project is generating interest from all quarters!
(Who knew?)

And if you happen to be reading between the lines here . . . Yes. I’m also considering button options right now. Which is such a nice “problem” to have. (Stay tuned.)

How about you? What are you making this week?
Oy! That’s a lotsa winding of yarn! I am chuckling though at the color matching going on in your house right now! But!! I can’t wait to see those gorgeous colors knit up in that cowl!
I used to have a great shop (in Holland Michigan) for buttons. The delightful owner (who has long since retired) had a large wall o’buttons. She believed that handmade things needed extra special buttons. I miss her button selection all.the.time!
That photo of JoJo just kills me — she’s clearly waiting for you to throw the balls already, mom! So excited to see the sweater!
I finished up my colorwork mittens last night, so while I’ve got a pair of stockinette socks in progress, I’m also pondering what to cast on now (because one WIP is not enough).
How fun!…but you might have to wear sunglasses while knitting it (ha, ha). I just bought a neon pink ball (very pricey!) like that for a possible project and am looking forward to the experience (hurray, no gray!). The times they are a-changin’.
Jojo says, yes, please, too!
Your new project should help you get through the gray gloominess of Feb. and March! And now I’m wondering what kind of fish like pink and orange pom-poms? Justin has tied some flies but his look like bugs, not nearly as colorful as Tom’s!
Fun for the whole family indeed!! That cowl! It will be a masterpiece Kym. And count me as another who cannot wait to see your finished sweater. Hope you can find the right buttons soon!
I completely agree with Vera – it will be a masterpiece. Looking forward to the photo shoot!!
Jo-Jo looks as if she is just waiting to play ball. What bright pretty colors for a cowl. It’s good to have those a-ha moments before you leave that yarn sitting around in a basket. A zipped project bag might be a good idea.
It does look just like a tennis ball. Amazing colours.
I LOVE that cowl pattern!! Wish I was better at/more confident with stranded knitting… but this is the type of project that would make me want to TRY (again).
