Ice storms are the worst. Hope you get your power back soon.
Steve always knows it is going to be a busy night for the fire dept. when we have an ice storm. Between people sliding into ditches (and each other), there are always wires and trees down. Not fun.

When I heard the weather report, Kym, I immediately thought of you (not having kith or kin in Michigan). Hope you are not too cold and have plenty of blankets, batteries, water, enough food, enough YARN. Hopefully a fireplace with plenty of wood? I think next December Time’s Man of the Year should be the outdoor utility worker/fireman/rescue worker. He – collectively – is having a workout these days. Having lived through several outages (once ten days with a 5-year-old -but not in the cold!) I was always glad to know he/she was out there, up a tree, running a snow plow (still power but no transportation), dislodging fallen giant tree branches, and more. You probably can’t go outside with all that ice or you would be talking with neighbors, sharing knowledge/hopes of the latest rescue efforts. We are all thinking of you and Tom!
Ugh, so sorry! We had lots of snow & high winds, but thankfully escaped a power outage. Hope yours is restored soon!
