I’m tired.
And, really . . . I can’t even.
So I’m taking a break here.
Opting out, I guess you could say.
I’ll be back.
I think.
Take care of yourselves.

sending love.
Take care of yourself and your loved ones, Kym.
Sending you a great big hug and reminding you, as I did Bonny, that you have a very supportive group of like-minded friends, Kym. We will survive, adapt, and cope as needed because we are strong and resilient.
I’m with you. I’m opting out of anything not necessary for survival right now.
I will miss you, but please know that you’re in my thoughts. When I can function again, I’ll be looking to find the “helpers” as per Mr. Rogers.
Much love,
~~Mary~~
Sending you all the love, dear friend. XO
I get it and feel pretty much the same way.
I am totally crushed.
You did the Right Thing as an American, no matter what the outcome. Chloe (a former – and proud – election worker).
Thank you for all you did — now rest.
As for me, after being awake a few hours in the middle of the night, I’m teaching (as a volunteer) an English class for refugee women. From Afghanistan and Mexico. Trying to get my head in the right spot for that. I’m relieved I didn’t have time to make up a lesson on election and voting. “Do you like” questions will be hard enough.
A friend postd this on Facebook:
You are awakening to the
same country you fell asleep to.
The very same country.
Pull yourself together.
And,
when you see me,
do not ask me
“What do we do now?
How do we get through the next four years?”
Some of my Ancestors dealt with
at least 400 years of this
under worse conditions.
Continue to do the good work.
Continue to build bridges not walls.
Continue to lead with compassion.
Continue the demanding work
of liberation for all.
Continue to dismantle broken systems,
large and small.
Continue to set the best example
for the children.
Continue to be a vessel of nourishing joy.
Continue right where you are.
Right where you live into your days.
Do so in the name of
The Creator who expects
nothing less from each of us.
And if you are not “continuing”
ALL of the above,
in community, partnership, collaboration?
What is it you have been doing?
What is it you are waiting for?
Kym, I know you are tired from all the good work you have done, and I feel the same way. Of all the people I follow, you are A VESSEL OF NOURISHING JOY and I know you’ll be able to bring that back to us soon.
Sending all the love and friendship. We WILL get through this (we already have once). I’m sorry we need to go through it again, but we MUST carry on and be kind, just and fair in our dealings with all.
It’s THE shittiest birthday in this history of birthdays. I think I can now call myself a member of the Bad Birthday Club. I can’t even… it’s going to take a while. Love to you.
I am devastated and right now I need to be quiet. I do know we will get through this somehow. Take good care of yourself, Kym!
I debated not posting but I decided that the best thing for me was to connect with like-minded people in our little corner of the internet. Take all the time you need and I do hope you’ll be back when you’re ready. Sending you hugs and a huge WTF to all who cast their votes for hate and division.
I understand and feel the need to bury my head in the sand as well, at least until the shock passes. Take care of yourself.
After the 2016 election I was devastated and depressed for weeks. This time I am just numb. I give thanks that we could all vote, unlike in some countries, and that we have confidence in our voting systeem, unlike in some countries. We will soldier on and hope for a brighter future…someday.
Thinking of you! I am shocked at the outcome and since I’m a loner who doesn’t go out much I will just hunker down a little more and try to work through it.
Here’s a great big hug from me too. To say I was disheartened with the news from Doug when I arrived home from counting at 11:30 (not bad actually) is an understatement. Seeking quiet today and going forward for a bit. We will miss you but will be sitting right beside you.
