As many of you know, it can be a bit stressful to live in two places (whether it’s living in two houses at once, or having a camper, or juggling a summer place/winter place). For us, when we head up north . . . it’s not like going on a vacation, really. Because when we’re up at our cabin, “regular life” goes on! We have to bring our “work” with us (paper work, Tom’s job work, the work of a life, etc.). We still do our workouts up here. We bring JoJo up here. We make dinner and clean up and do chores and fix broken things up here (looking at you, septic tank).
And, of course, we play up here, too!
Which, really, makes all the backing-and-forthing and coming-and-going totally worth it.
I hope you enjoy these “postcards” of “lake life” from our summer up north. (Absent the septic tank woes, of course.)
Enjoy your weekend! I hope you can find joy in these fleeting summer days.
Lovely!! I need a dose of “north” soon!!
Perfect! Enjoy Kym, Tom and JoJo!
I love that windsock! And I see you s’mores.
Thank for sharing these with us (and for NOT sharing any septic tank details). I feel more relaxed just looking at photos of the lake, so I can only imagine how heavenly it must be to be there. Enjoy!
Thank you for sharing these amazing slices of life from your Northern Abode! (and may the septic issues be over sooner than later!)
It’s such a lovely spot, thank you for sharing these postcards of life Up North. Dale and I just got zero gravity chairs for the camper and OOH BOY are those awesome!
Great pictures. My father built a lake cottage in CT when I was about 5 I think and we spent every summer there till I gratuated from high school. When my father retired, my parents spent every summer from June to September at the lake and we’d visit on weekends. They sold it about 10 years ago as my sister and I didn’t want to have to do the upkeep on it and it was just too much work. But, it was great to have for the 50 or so years they had it.
Delightful pictures! Love the nostalgia-evoking sleeveless plaid shirt that I remember from woodsy summer days throughout my life. So glad that this style never goes out of style. And another vote for that colorful windsock!
So relaxing and calming to view your postcards. Brings back memories of summers spent at a lake in Vermont!
I imagine sitting on the dock in the evening enjoying the view as the colors fade in the twilight and then a billion stars coming out to sparkle up the sky! I’m relaxed already.
The lake looks so inviting!
I love the porch views, and I’m seeing sleeveless tops … is it almost cool enough up there for a sweatshirt? I need some chilly air, even if it’s vicarious!
What beautiful postcards. You both look quite relaxed and happy. P. S. the s’more looks delicious. They are best at the lake.
